Mass killing pit
The diameter of the pit – about 25 m. The site was discovered in 2017 during a geophysical survey. The pit was marked in the scheme provided by Alex Pflüger of the 96th Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht in 1959 and was mentioned in the evidence given by other members of the division who remembered the events of July 1941 when about 400 Jewish men were executed. These could potentially be the first victims at Paneriai mass murder site shot in the pit on 11 July 1941.
